About Us
Split Second Basketball was started by Eric Butler in 2010 to create a pathway for young athletes to develop great habits that will help them have success in basketball and life. Our curriculum begins with the youngest elementary-aged players and advances to challenge our high school-aged athletes.
The results speak for themselves as we have now coached several thousand young athletes and our impact is growing.

Not only do the coaches do a great job of teaching the fundamentals, they do an incredible job of always being positive and emphasizing the importance of character, sportsmanship, and teamwork. I especially love that their program stresses long-term skill development over short-term winning. I can’t recommend Split Second enough!”
Chris C, Parent
“Simply put, this is the best club basketball program in the Lower Mainland. The focus on teaching and developing the fundamentals of the game makes Split Second a no-brainer for where I choose to send my kids to learn how to play basketball.”
Tony McDougall, Parent of 2 Cobras and former university player
“The culture that Eric Butler has created at Split Second is amazing! All the coaches are motivated and focused on developing the kids in all aspects of the game. Their approach is fun, encouraging, and very detail-oriented to “play the right way”. Every time you walk into the gym you feel the family atmosphere and energy of the coaches, athletes, and parents.”
Sharon B, Parent
“We have been part of many different programs and club teams but Split Second is by far the best program there is. All of the coaches know the game and know how to impart that knowledge to all ages and levels of players. Our family cannot thank Eric and Split Second enough for the avenue they have provided for our son to pursue his love of basketball.”
Robert C, Parent
“Split second has been an awesome experience for my daughters. Great coaching and coaches. Strong player development and really good facilities. Also, strong travel opportunities during the year. I would highly recommend them for athletes focused on improving their basketball skill level!”
